Tractor Maintenance

A one day course for tractor operators enabling them to undertake basic routine maintenance of their machines. This course is for anyone who needs to maintain a tractor to the standards documented in the manufacturer's operator's handbook.  The course will enable you to understand the reasons for maintenance.  To competently perform maintenance to the level of the manufacturer's instruction book and to ensure that the tractor is in a safe roadworthy state.

It is with immense pride that we announce that Kate Mason has been awarded the Women in Agriculture Education and Training Woman of the Year award at the The National Women in Agriculture Awards 2026, and is the icing on the cake as she celebrates 40 years of working with and for Vale Training Services Ltd.

The event celebrated 13 exceptional women from across the UK farming sector during a ceremony held on 5 May at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms. Course Pre Requisite: None but a basic knowledge of tractors is advisable.

Certificating Body: Vale Training Certificate of attendance . Can lead to elements of NPTC assessment.

Course Length: One day but additional days can be added.

Course Times: 9.30am to 4.30pm or to suit client.

Instructor: Various.

Cost: £120 per person per day + VAT.

Venue: Marsh Hill Centre, Marsh, Aylesbury. Hp17 8ST or to suit client.

Maximum Trainees: 4

  • Course Content Understand reasons for maintenance.
  • Undertake maintenance to the level of the operator's manual

                        to include:-    

                                    fuel/air systems

                                    lubrication systems

                                    electrical systems

                                    cooling systems

                                    brake & clutch adjustment

                                    adjustment of wheel bearings

                                    hydraulic systems

                                    tyre pressures

  •  Ensure that the tractor is in a safe roadworthy condition
